What is the Female Product Lead?
We started in May 2022 as a group on LinkedIn, this group grew organically with no investment or marketing showing there is a global need not currently being met specifically for support for female product leaders.
So to ensure that need is met in an even more tangible way we evolved to become an interactive supportive community on Slack.
Here members are invited to participate by becoming community thought leaders, advisors and mentors. Taking part in community events in person and virtual, as speakers, panelists, and mentors in our innovative approach to ad hoc mentoring and Speed Mentoring. Leaders are able to learn, grow and become empowered and energised through the community leaders of tomorrow are given the support they need as well as being able to see what good looks like in many different ways by continued connection to successful female product leaders of today and their allies.

Our purpose
To support and connect female product leaders so they get the tools, confidence and pragmatic advice needed to elevate their careers to get them where they want to be whilst navigating tricky challenges along the way.
Beyond the title of the Female Product Lead, our community is open to all, regardless of how you identify.
Whilst the title of our community name presents as being binary, we endeavour to break down some of these constructs. Our aim is instead to recognise the challenges that many face in the tech world that has historically been and is often still is systemically male-dominated.
We welcome any who feel marginalised now or have in the past and the mentors within the community and those attending mentoring events are either female product leaders or allies.

We are a group of people all passionate about the strength that comes from community. Whilst we are all very different in our set of experiences and strengths as product leaders, we are all aligned on the vision we have for our community.
