These events are usually quite small - due to logistics - approximately 10-15 Mentors with the same number of Mentees paired up and given short time slots to spend together in pairs - a bit like 'speed dating'

We take the time to introduce and explain the concept and will have Mentor Bios and Specialities on display where possible but also send these out ahead of the event in our event packs.
Mentees are asked to find the mentors they wish to speak to (in virtual events this is done randomly with breakout rooms) and come with their pre prepared problems or challenges
The Speed mentoring is usually between 4 to 5 ten minute sessions with five minute breaks in between
Events will be both In Person and Virtual, its our aim to make these accessible to everyone no matter where they are located, and their ability to travel
It’s not designed to pair up mentors/mentees but could be the pre cursor to a longer term connection.
It’s important for mentees to have a number of topics, challenges or even short term goals they are focused on, ready to bring to their discussion/s. Mentees can suggest these topics to their paired mentor for each session, either covering the same topic several times with each paired mentor - or decide to cover a broad range of your ideas - it’s totally up to you!
Mentors are encouraged to listen as much as possible until they believe they have fully understood the ask of their paired mentee. Time is of the essence & you don’t want to waste it with too much discovery discussion or alternatively beginning too quickly on an incorrect assumption, so guide your mentee to be clear, concise and focused.

Virtual Speed Mentoring event: I wasn't sure how much you can achieve in a 10 minutes session... turns out - quite a lot if the question is clear!

In Person Speed Mentoring event: "A brilliant, unique event. This was not just about career advice or getting into product, but specific challenges product people were facing in their jobs with advice on how to approach . This is group mentoring at its finest and I am proud to for the Product Mind community to be an ongoing partner with the Female Product Lead"

Thank you so so so much for the speed networking event. I haven’t had the opportunity to speak to so many product leaders/execs before. I received some really practical tips for a few of my challenges. It was incredibly valuable. Can’t wait for the next one.
